Birthday Mum

Today is Mum's birthday and she has had a really nice day.

It all started yesterday when she fund a secret bunch of flowers we had bought for her.  OK, so Dad bought the flowers which was very good of him, but he made a real mess of hiding them.  This morning he made up for that and gave her breakfast in bed and she shared none of it with me.  After that we all went out for a walk and lunch.

We have just got home and found some more birthday cards that the nice postman delivered whilst we were out.  Mum squealed when she opened the one from Aunty Debbie because we are on it!!!!!

How clever is that??

Happy Birthday Mum and top marks Aunty Debbie!

Weekend BBQ

Saturday saw us packing up house and home before heading off to Clumber for a barbeque get together.  There were 10 and a half hoomans (Matthew only counted as a half because he didn't eat very much) and 7 dogs.  We all got sausages for lunch while the hoomans had burgers, salad and cake so a little one sided I thought.

It was a lovely day although very hot.  At the end of the day Tigger came home with us for a sleep over with his hoomans.  I took him for a walk around the village early on Sunday morning before it got too warm.

By dinner time all of our visitors had gone home, so Murphy and I settled down to a very lazy and sleep filled evening.

It was lovely having Deirdre, James and Matthew to stay even if I was a bit shy.  At least we sent the little chap home with a great new word to practice on everyone ... 'woof''!!

Day out

Just back from a great day spent at Aunty Debbie's house playing with my brother Dougal.  Phew, it was a hot one though and now I've crashed out for a while until it's time for dinner.

Craig-ette

We came home at the weekend after a really lovely few days in Northumberland and just in time for dad to head off for another photography day at Hardwick Hall.

We had a big surprise waiting for us on Friday ... our first little 'Craig-ette'.

Mum was so proud she left off eating it until Saturday and then said it was really juicy and tasty.  There are loads more to go red yet, so hopefully I will get to taste one.

A quiet day today.  Dad's sister Deirdre has come to stay with her husband James and Matthew who is 18 months old.  I was very good when they arrived last night and didn't bark at them at all, I left that to Murphy and guess what?  Matthew said woof back to him!

Mum gave me a fishy teat for being so good and said if I carry on like that all week I will look like a barrel.

I don't mind them staying with us at all, especially as there seems to be a fair amount of food that will come my way what with treats and toast that Matthew doesn't eat for his breakfast.  Not sure about having to have a bath and a major hair cut yesterday morning though.

Kielder Forest

Today we headed away from the sea and went to Kielder Forest. We had a lovely 6.5 mile walk through the woods and along the side of the lake. We even saw these two playing in the trees.

Tomorrow we are packing up the mobile kennel and heading home. We may go for one last run on the beach before we head off in the morning. I'm looking forward to a big sleep on the journey down cause this holiday has been non stop.

Mum to the rescue

I think she's sorted it, with a little help from a glass of wine!

Not appy.

Just used to Blogger app to update my status. Mum says the pictures are all "squiffy"and that I need to make them smaller. Please bear with me while I try to sort it out. Getting your paws to work an iPad is tricky enough and now she expects me to know everything about how to work these new app things :-(

Druridge Bay Country Park

We had a lovely walk today at the Druridge Bay Country Park, which is about 3 mile south of Amble. It has a lovely beach, but instead we decided to take a walk around the Ladyburn Lake. It had loads and loads of ducks and swans and we even saw a heron fishing. Unfortunately Mum kept me on my lead just in case I was tempted to chase something.

Puffin watch

Today Dad went off for the day on a boat to see some puffins.

He took 900 photographs in 6 hours.

Here is just one

Beach walk

We've been back to the beach this morning, but a different one than usual and one we have earmarked to go to on Friday before we leave as it is really closer to the site.

We have been to Dunstan Steads which is a short walk across the golf course underneath Dunstanburgh Castle and it is beautiful.

We had a great time.  Mum always says Dougal and Inca are water babes, well she might just have two of her own..

Dogs, Dogs, Dogs

I am sooo excited this morning I am bouncing, can you see me?

Dad spotted another Welshie on the site this morning!! I haven't had a chance to say hello yet as I'm not sure quite where he is staying so I may have to lie in wait for the next time he goes out for a walk.  Dad said he may not want me to say hello ... I don't believe that for one minute.

There are loads of dogs on the site here and they come in all shapes and sizes, some I've never seen before.  One van has a Weimeramer and a Papillion - how do they go for a walk together?

Off again

Yesterday we went for a walk and took Mum's friend Pauline with us.  I think she enjoyed herself, especially when Mum took her to the ice cream place for lunch afterwards. As usual there was no ice cream for us.

This morning we were up quite early (well early for us) to pack our 'van before heading off to Northumberland for a week.  We had to stop twice on the way - at Weatherby for Murphy to 'stretch his legs' and later at Durham for the hoomans to have some lunch!  We finally arrived at Dunstan Hill to find a very busy site, in fact it is almost full.  We have a nice pitch with loads of room for us, the awning and the barbeque.  After Mum and Dad had set everything up they took us to Beadnell Beach which is one of our favourite.

We are currently relaxing and waiting for our dinner to cook. We are having barbecued chicken. It doesn't look as nice as yours did last week Aunty Debbie as ours has been flattened.  I don't mind as long as it tastes good and is ready soon!  I am a very hungry puppy this evening!

Days Away

We have been away for few days and had a great time. On Monday we went to the National Memorial Arboretum which Mum said was a really lovely and peaceful place. Sadly we weren't allowed in so the hoomans took turns staying with us in the car.  Strangely too for a place with loads of trees there were none in the car park so Dad put the gazebo over the car to give us some shade.

Now we love our hoomans and enjoy being out with them, but they did something at lunch time on Monday that I thought was very unfair.  They had a barbeque under the gazebo and cooked sausages for their lunch right under our noses and never gave us any!

Yesterday we had a lazy morning and then planned to go for a walk after lunch but it start to rain.
Sad puppy
It was so heavy that we had a mini flood in our awning and Dad had to move all the stuff to dry ground.  We did get our walk later and still got very wet through rain and swimming - that was Dougal, Fergus and Inca in the canal.

We are heading home today for a few days and then we are off to Northumberland at the weekend to check out all our favourite beaches.

Going away

We are heading off in our 'van tomorrow for a few days.  I'm really looking forward to the trip as we will be meeting up with Dougal, Aunty Debbie and the rest of the gang.

What I don't understand is this.  In the middle of all the stuff Mum has to do for us to go away, she always finds time to give me a trim.  Now how is that?

Holding the pose

Dad was out in the garden with his camera today taking some practice shots, so guess who had to stand very still for him?  Yes I managed it for a short while and came out looking quite good I thought.

Murphy as always wanted to have a go too

Mum took this one on Monday on our walk
