The Core Group

The core group of Welshies and honorary Welshies

Merlin
I am seven years old and I love doing everything - going for walks, charging about the garden (or the house, I'm not fussy), playing with my toys, eating, barking at Murphy/cats/birds ... I am always very busy.  I enjoy meeting up with all our friends and help with the training of the youngsters as they come along.
I don't go to regular training sessions anymore (secretly I think the opinion is that I have learnt everything I ever will!) although Sandra does try and do 'a bit' with me now and again. I am told my posh name is Amiro Oratorio and sometimes Sandra calls me 'Trouble Bubble' amongst other things!
Favourite Toy: Anything that makes a lot of noise and the hosepipe
Favourite Food: Anything that's available

Murphy
I am now thirteen years old and the elder statesman of the group.  I was the first dog that Michael and Sandra brought to live with them and so am known to them as their 'Best Boy'.  Although I was quite naughty when I was very little, I am now very well behaved and no trouble to look after.  I still enjoy going for walks in the countryside, although can't quite manage the big yomps I used to, and love to visit the beach - there is something about the feel of sand in my paws!  I like to snooze away the day in comfortable places such as my bed in the lounge which just catches the sunshine through the window perfectly.  My posh name is Pamicks Murphy.
Favourite Toy:   Spacehopper and Red Bull (that’s a squeaky not the drink!)
Favourite Food: Doggy chocolate, cake and ice cream (when I can get them)

Fergus

I am nine years old and was born in Scotland.  I moved to live with Debbie and Dave when I was 8 weeks old.  I am a working gundog and I specialise in finding and retrieving game that has been shot - this is called 'Picking Up'.  These days I have to share my working day with the girls which I am not too keen on, but I can be proud to say I taught them all they know! When I am not working I love going to the beach or for walks in the countryside.  I have a big bag of rosettes and certificates mainly won at Working Tests and I have also passed my Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.  I've also got a posh Sunday name, it's Kazval Country File.  In 2015 I took Debbie and Dave on the Coast to Coast Walk - 190 miles from St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay.
Favourite Toy: A string of plastic sausages
Favourite Food: Auntie Sandra's homemade treats

Dery
I am the baby (for that read boss) of the pack.  I was born in Herefordshire on 3rd September 2015 and I moved to Lincolnshire was I was 7 and a half weeks old.  It didn't take me long to get my staff trained.  I was born to be a working gundog and I am making sure they do everything right and to my liking to make sure they don't show me up in the field when I make my debut.  I have to admit Mum wasn't too bad in my first working test at 7 months old when I was the only Puppy to get an award.  Since then I have gone on to win loads of rosettes and have even had a go at the real thing on the odd shoot.
My posh name is Isfryn Spotless at Ferderyn and  my favourite toy is .... the entire contents of the toy box!

Milly

I live with Trevor and Joan in York and I LOVE going for walks.   I demand fuss and tickles from everyone I meet and if I can have a swim too while on a walk, that’s even better.  I am the only REAL Welshie in the pack, as I’ve got a full tail, and very proud of it I am too.

Inca
My name is Inca. I may look like a black Labrador but I am also an honorary Welshie! I will be five years old this year and I moved to live with Duggie, Fergus, Max and Dougal in June 2012. Debbie has trained me to be a picking up dog and in 2013 I started working on shoots and can now be viewed as an old hand at it. I enjoy going for walks, especially to the beach, and meeting up with all my friends.
My posh name is Nocton Black Magic.

Lola

I was born in Ireland on New Year's Day 2015. I joined Fergus the Welshie born in
Scotland, living in England, and the rest of his pack and humans in August 2015. Luckily none of us are big rugby fans! When I am not working I love playing with my little sister Dery and my big sister Inca. It's great to be an honorary Welshie as it means I get to go to lots of Welsh Springer Spaniel Club.
My posh name is Wellbray Wisdom and my favourite toy is anything Dery doesn't steal from me!

Dyllan and Dougal are making the lives of other humans very special and fun filled
