Dad to the rescue

Just got back from a very interesting walk today. Firstly I made a new friend - a very small Jack Russell ran down her drive to say hello as we passed along the lane.  I don't know her name (a pink collar tells me she was a girl) as when her Dad came to fetch her he just scooped her up and said she wasn't very obedient.  Mum said she knew all about that - don't know what she was on about.  A bit later a rabbit ran across our path off the railway line and into the hedge.  Now I have to admit I was busy with other smells at the time, but Murphy swears he knows exactly where it went to.
At the top of the lane (about 1 1/2 miles from home) we turned around to head home when it started raining a bit, then heavier and then a huge hail storm hit us.  It's not easy walking into hail stones you know, hurts the old nose.  Anyway after a while we were pretty wet when around the corner came DAD - he had seen the rain from his window and came to find us to save us from getting completely soaked.
That was very thoughtful of him although it didn't stop us from getting soaked - we had to have a wash when we got home but Dad got a biscuit with a cup of tea!
