A lovely day for it

Today has been a special day and all because my brother Murphy came on his first walk with me in almost three weeks.

Murphy hasn't been poorly as such, but has had a very painful leg and shoulder so as been on 'bed rest' for a while and then just short little walks around the village.  Today it was lovely and sunny, so Mum and I took him to Clumber for a gentle stroll along Lime Tree Avenue and it was great.

Sunday

So after a tense but exciting Friday evening watching Wales beat France (hurrah!) and then an extra tense Saturday afternoon watching England beat Ireland (no comment in case Dad reads this) it was time this morning to put the rugby away and go a walk.

While Murphy, with his sore but much improved poorly leg, took Dad (with a sore throat and cold) around the village Mum and I went to Clumber for a very enjoyable walk.  Mum said she was going to be brave and let me off my lead but it was quite windy and she says that makes me a bit skittish - I think she means I ignore her more than usual!

Good fun was had by all, even me when this pesky feather crossed my path.

Tense times are coming

We are heading for a tense Saturday afternoon in our house.

England play Ireland in the rugby.

We had better keep our Welsh heads down Murphy.

A walk in the woods

Yesterday Mum and I met Dougal, Inca and Auntie Debbie for a walk in the woods at Woodhall.  I had a fantastic time - off my lead again I'll have you know and I responded (to Auntie Debbie) very well.  Actually, I think it's been decided that it is Mum who needs to sharpen up a bit when we are out - she needs to trust me that I will come back to her and then we canal have a much nicer time.

Anyhow, she did quite well yesterday and I came home very tired and dirty enough for Dad to insist I had a wash before coming into the house.  So here I am tied to the gate with Mr Rabbit in attendance.

Thankfully the water in the watering can for my rinse off was warm!

Photo Queen Fails!

Last Monday I went with Mum to meet Auntie Debbie, Inca and Dougal for a walk at Clumber.  It was a lovely sunny day, but best of all I ran free for almost all of the walk.  Auntie Debbie said later it was like I was 'one of hers' which is a lovely thing to say.

Mum failed me though.  Of all the times that a picture of me running around with my best friend/little brother and my girlfriend would have be really nice ......guess who didn't get the her camera out??

We are meeting again next Monday so she will have another chance.

It's been a funny week as I have been having solo walks because Murphy has hurt his leg quite badly.  We don't know what he has done, but he has to be looked after very carefully and kept warm at home.  He is not to go yomping about in the wind and rain, which actually I think he is quite pleased about!
He is still barking, eating up all his food and happy to come outside with me, so he will be fine after a couple of weeks rest.  I am finding it quite difficult being careful around him though and do occasionally bump into him which makes him squeak.  I am sorry if you hurt when I bump you Murphy, I don't mean to.

Last night was very interesting as Murphy, me and Mum all slept in the dining room so as Murphy didn't have to navigate the stairs.  It was quite exciting - Dad brought down a mattress for Mum and we had our beds brought in.  We all settled down nicely to go to sleep when Mum suddenly realised that I can get a fantastic view of the garden from the big windows.

I was very good and didn't bark at anything all night!

Sunny here

Yesterday was the last day of the shooting season, so out working friends - Max, Inca, Fergus and Dougal - were all out for one last session.  Hopefully it was as dry and sunny for them as it was for our walk.

As usual Mum had her phone out taking pictures of us.  She's quite excited about her phone at the moment because Dad installed some upgrades for her on Friday - it took ages as she had never done it in over 2 years.  Now she says it's like having a new phone but knowing how to work it!

Here are some results from Saturday.
